THE MEETING

The conference in 2002 was held at Tilton School, Tilton, NH

Alison Hulme composed several limericks, which she used
to introduce speakers. She was kind enough to share these
so they could be posted here. Thanks very much Alison.

Most have heard of Ayrshire's finest, Robert Burns, but fewer are aware of his 
contemporary William Topaz McGonagall, who was born in Edinburgh but spent much 
of his life in Dundee. He has been hailed as the writer of the worst poetry in 
the English language! To celebrate the centenary anniversary of his death I propose 
to introduce this session in the style of McGonagall....

And one-pot metathesis the driver.

"Synthesis of Glycoconjugate Bioisosteres"

Last up, Alessandro Dondoni,
Glycosylfullerenes not only,
Can he claim to have made.
So the path is laid,
To celebrate his success with Peroni!

"Synthesis of NK-1 Receptor Agonists Ð It's Not Nice to Fool Mother Nature!"

There was a head gaffer Paul Reider,
With an Amgen or Merck decider,
To California he must go,
And learn .. to .. talk .. slow ....
